Keeping It Green

It takes effort to make buildings and neighborhoods green, safe and healthy places. NeighborWorks Great Falls (NWGF) is committed to becoming more of a green organization and working with our partners, residents and clients to infuse green principles throughout our operations. We try to use best practices in creating and promoting healthy and sustainable homes and neighborhoods. NeighborWorks America designated NWGF a "green" partner, indicating that we meet that higher standard in all our operations and lines of business.

In 2014 and 2015,  NeighborWorks America honored NeighborWorks Great Falls with the designation of NeighborWorks Green Organization.  For more information about NeighborWorks America's green designation, click here and for information about the NWGF  2015 Green Designees, click here. Here are the details of our green work!

Operations

For us, going green makes economic, environmental and productive sense. We use the following sustainable business practices in our day-to-day operations:

  • Use ENERGY STAR labeled office equipment;
  • Purchase secondhand office equipment whenever possible; and
  • Recycle office paper, aluminum and plastic

New Construction

At NWGF, we put our green beliefs into action. NWGF homes are quality built for long-term affordability, comfort and enduring value. By using the simplest green technologies available, the long-term maintenance and operating costs are reduced. Your NWGF home is designed with quality energy features that use less energy and water and fewer natural resources and provides a healthier, safer and more comfortable environment for your family.

In fact, NWGF was recently named Regional Builder of the Year by NorthWestern Energy and Northwest ENERGY STAR® Homes. The awards recognize homebuilders and home energy raters for outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the Northwest ENERGY STAR Homes program, and an overall commitment to improving energy efficiency in new residential construction.
