In addition to creating new homeowners, NeighborWorks Great Falls has many services available to help families improve and stay in their homes.
Home Improvement and Maintenance That Pays
Energy Saving Tips for Your Home and Family
Loans for home improvements include such items as new roofs, new foundations and upgraded electricity and plumbing systems.
Loans also are available for exterior home improvements, such as painting and landscaping.
If you own your home, you may qualify for a NWGF loan to help you fix your house. An NWGF “rehab” specialist is available without charge to help you decide on repairs, choose a contractor and make sure the job is done right. NWGF rehab loans require monthly payments for interest and principal repayment.
Call our office at 406-761-5861 or send email to info@nwgf.org.
If you have equity in your home and have owned your home for 1 year, check with the City of Great Falls for a deferred loan.
Emergency loans are made for problems such as broken sewer lines and replacement furnaces.
NWGF also has loans available to senior citizens for home improvements to make homes more livable for their later years. We can help you decide if a mortgage is the right thing to do.
NWGF offers foreclosure prevention counseling to anyone in danger of foreclosure. Loans may be available to pay your missing payments to qualifying families. |
Dee's Story
Dee worked hard to get her own home and she worked hard to keep it in good shape. But an older home with older home problems needed extensive work and Dee needed a loan to pay for it all.
Dee came to NWGF to see if we could help keep her in her home. She completed her paperwork with the loan counselor and sat down with our rehab specialist to determine what work needed to be done and what she could afford.
A few weeks later, Dee received word that her loan had been approved by the NWGF loan committee. She was elated.
Working with the rehab specialist, she sent bids out to reliable contractors, selected one she liked and started her remodeling.
Today, Dee and her children are delighted with their (almost) new home.
“My house is more comfortable and safer,” says Dee, “I love it. Thanks, NWGF." |
