Become A Successful Homeowner

Homeownership is a process. It takes knowledge and resources.

NeighborWorks Great Falls offers:

  • personal counseling to help you understand the steps to home ownership, like how to fix your credit, create a budget, and work with your creditors.
  • classes that cover all phases of the home buying process
  • loans for down payments and closing costs.

Lending Programs for Homebuyers

NeighborWorks Great Falls offers loan programs that enable individuals and families of lower and moderate income to achieve the American Dream of home-ownership. Eligibility for all programs depends on income and number of people in the family.

For families that qualify for first mortgages from a financial institution, NWGF has loans for down-payment and closing costs.

For low income families that cannot afford to make full payments, NWGF has 0% deferred second mortgages which do not require monthly payments and are repaid with equity share when the home is sold, is no longer the principal residence, or when the first mortgage is repaid.

If your credit is not so perfect...

The lending institutions that provide loans to buy homes have specific credit requirements. NeighborWorks Great Falls can educate and counsel buyers to bring them to "credit readiness." Sometimes, families can make a house payment for the same cost as their rent payments.
